Your guide to Albania’s Party Spots
Albania is having a moment. What was once Europe’s most isolated country has transformed into the Mediterranean’s hottest party destination, offering crystal-clear waters, world-class festivals, and beach clubs that rival Mykonos – all at a fraction of the price. But here’s what makes Albania special: it’s not trying to be anywhere else. This is a place where genuine hospitality meets untamed natural beauty, where you can party until dawn and wake up to mountain views that take your breath away.
Të Riviera Shqiptare welcomes fun-loving, respectful travelers with open arms. This isn’t a destination for drug tourism or criminal activity – Albania has zero tolerance for that. Instead, come for the infectious energy, the €5 cocktails, the spontaneous dance circles, and the kind of authentic experiences that disappeared from most of Europe decades ago.
The new Vlorë airport is almost ready
Big news for 2025: Aeroporti Ndërkombëtar i Vlorës completed its first certification flight in May 2025, with commercial operations expected to begin in summer 2025 or possibly 2026. The facility features a massive 3.2km runway (the longest in the Balkans) capable of handling wide-body aircraft like Boeing 777s. Air Albania plans to establish operations here, but flight schedules and routes haven’t been announced yet.
For now, you’ll still need to fly into Aeroporti Ndërkombëtar i Tiranës or take the ferry from Corfu. But once Vlorë opens commercially, you’ll be just 90 minutes from any beach on the coast instead of the current 5-hour transfer from Tirana.
Book flights or directly with airlines, with connections from major European cities starting at €40 one-way to Tirana.
Dhërmi: where the party started
Dhërmi is the OG of Albanian beach parties, home to the legendary Havana Beach Club (@havana.dhermi, +355 69 632 2085). Operating since 2001, this is where DJ Tiësto played to 7,000 people back in 2009. The Latin groovy music and Mediterranean architecture create an atmosphere that’s both sophisticated and wild. Their Sunday sessions are legendary – arrive early or risk missing out.
For a more intimate vibe, head to Salinas Beach Bar with its bean bags in the sand, neon lights, and fire pits perfect for late-night conversations. Movie nights on the big screen add a unique touch to the typical beach club experience.
Where to stay in Dhërmi
Empire Beach Resort (@empire_beach_resort_official) offers adults-only luxury starting at $46/night. Book through Booking.com and remember to contact them 24 hours before arrival. The resort features a private beach area, spa center, and that essential free WiFi for posting those envy-inducing Instagram stories.
Budget travelers should check out the hostels starting from 382 Lekë/night (about €3) – yes, you read that right. Book through Hostelworld ose Booking.com for the best deals.
Kala Festival brings the world to Dhërmi
Running June 4-11, 2025, Festivali i Kalasë (@kalafestival) transforms Dhërmi into a boutique electronic music paradise. With tickets from €440 including 7 nights accommodation, it’s an incredible deal. The festival works with 200+ local hotels, offering everything from cozy beach huts to 5-star resorts. All tickets include transfers from Tirana or Corfu.
The festival’s Instagram (@kalafestival) features amazing aftermovie content from 2024, showcasing the incredible beach stages, mountain backdrops, and crowd energy that made headlines across electronic music media.
Anjunadeep Explorations follows immediately after (June 12-17) at the same location, bringing deep house and melodic techno to multiple venues including Empire, Splendor, and The Cove. Book through anjunadeep.com/events/explorations.
Jal: where Albanian celebrities party
Just down the coast, Plazhi Jal attracts a more exclusive crowd. Folie Marine Beach Club & Resort (@f.marine, +355 69 942 0477, foliemarine.com) is where the Albanian jet-set comes to play. With 500 sunbeds (100 VIP), international DJs, and the connected Prive Lounge (@prive.lounge), this is upscale partying at its finest. During special events, rooms can hit €800/night, but weekdays offer more reasonable €200-300 rates.
Book directly through Booking.com or their website. The resort features 150 rooms across the main hotel and Soleil Village, three restaurants, and that all-important private beach access.
For budget options, Social Camping JAL offers an authentic olive grove camping experience, while Hotel Jali (hotel-jali.al) provides simple rooms just a minute from the beach.
Ksamil: Instagram paradise meets party central
Ksamil’s four islands and impossibly blue water make it the most photographed spot on the Albanian coast. Bianco Rooftop Nightclub dominates the party scene – chill by day, absolute madness by night. Their rooftop location offers ocean views that make every drink taste better.
Don’t miss Principotes & Tulum Resto Lounge for those boujee vibes and rosé by the glass, or Poda Beach Bar with its famous swing in the sea – yes, it’s as Instagram-worthy as it sounds.
Ksamil accommodation
Poda Boutique Hotel puts you right on the beach with private access. Hotel Castle offers a fitness center and beach club – perfect for working off those cocktails. Budget options start around €59/night for decent beach hotels.
Saranda: the Riviera’s party capital
Saranda’s waterfront promenade transforms into party central after dark. Mango Beach Club (@mango_beach, +355 69 241 2488, [email protected]) holds up to 2,500 people and seamlessly transitions from beach bar to open-air club. Sunbeds run €30 for two in high season.
Orange Club Saranda (@orange_club_sarande_albania) brings regular DJ performances and a young, energetic crowd. For rooftop action, hit Rooftop Saranda atop the Illyrian Boutique Hotel (illyrianboutiquehotel.com) – their motto “You bring the party, we bring the drinks” says it all.
Getting to Saranda
The Corfu to Saranda ferry runs up to 15 times daily in summer, taking just 30-40 minutes for €15-30. Book through:
- Direct Ferries: directferries.com/corfu_saranda_ferry.htm
- Finikas Lines: finikas-lines.com
- Zas Ferries: zasferries.com/corfu-saranda
Himarë: the sweet spot
Less developed than Saranda but more sophisticated than a backpacker haven, Himarë hits the perfect balance. Mumbas Beach Club charges just €10 for two sunbeds and umbrella, transforming from bohemian day spot to proper club at night.
For sunset drinks, Lido Cocktail Bar offers a smart atmosphere close to the water, while Thea Rooftop Bar keeps the party going late. A 30-minute walk brings you to Livadhi Beach’s undeveloped shores and cute tavernas – perfect for escaping the crowds.
Stay at Hostel Himarë (Booking.com) for budget vibes or splash out at Hotel Rapos Resort (@raposresort) for 5-star luxury with pool access.
Tirana: pre-party headquarters
Start your Albanian adventure in the capital, where Radio Bar (@radiobartirana, radiobar.al) serves communist-era nostalgia with your cocktails. Open 10:30 AM to 3 AM daily, it’s the perfect spot for day drinking that turns into night partying. Jazz Thursdays and electronic weekends keep things interesting.
Folie Terrace (@f.terrace, +355 68 609 1668) near Skanderbeg Square holds 1,000+ people under its retractable roof. Book ahead – this place gets packed. Entry fees apply but are worth it for the state-of-the-art sound system.
Don’t miss Lollipop Club (@lollipopclubofficial, +355 069 949 3247) in the trendy Blloku district. €3.50 entry includes a free drink on Thursday evenings. They also operate a summer location at Green Coast beach.
For a unique experience, Sky Tower Bar (sky1hotel.al) offers the Balkans’ only 360-degree rotating bar on floors 18-19. Smart casual dress code enforced – no athletic wear allowed.

Buses between beach towns cost €5-15. Book through albanianbus.com or just show up at the station.
2025 music festivals: book now
UNUM Festival (June 5-10, unumfestival.com) brings 24/7 electronic music to Rana e Hedhun beach in Shëngjin. With 50,000+ attendees and 100+ artists across three stages, this is Albania’s answer to Burning Man. Beach and pine forest settings create a magical atmosphere.
Soundwave Albania hits Vlorë in July with electronic, hip-hop, reggae, and jazz across multiple stages. Art installations and cultural workshops add depth to the party experience.
Note: ION Festival is cancelled for 2025 due to rising costs.
Party responsibly
Albania welcomes respectful tourists but has zero tolerance for drugs. Possession carries 5-10 years imprisonment – this isn’t the place to test boundaries. Stick to the excellent local beer (€2.70-4) and cocktails (€5-18).
You can legally drink in public spaces including beaches and parks, but don’t drive – there’s complete zero tolerance for drink-driving.
Staying safe
- Numri i urgjencës: 112
- American Hospital Tirana: +355 42357535 (24-hour emergency)
- Tap water isn’t safe – stick to bottled
- Crime rates are low, but watch for pickpockets in tourist areas
- Use official taxis at night – they’re generally very safe
Cultural tips
- Albanians shake their head for “yes” and nod for “no” – opposite of Western norms
- Learn “Gëzuar” (ge-ZU-ar) for “cheers” – locals love it
- Tipping 10% shows appreciation but isn’t mandatory
- Bring euros (widely accepted) and some Albanian lek for smaller vendors
When to visit
Peak season (July-August) brings crowds and higher prices. For the best experience, visit May-June or September when you’ll find 22-30°C temperatures, active nightlife, and rooms from €20-30/night for a private double.
The shoulder seasons offer the same crystal-clear water, most venues still operating, and a more authentic experience without the Instagram crowds.
Your Albanian adventure awaits
Dancing barefoot on white pebbles as the sun rises over mountains that touch the sky, electronic beats mixing with gentle waves, and you realize you’ve just spent the best €5 of your life on a cocktail that would cost €20 anywhere else in Europe. That’s Albania in 2025 – a place where the party is real, the people are genuinely happy to see you, and every sunset feels like a personal gift.
Të Riviera Shqiptare isn’t trying to be the next anything. It’s busy being the first of something entirely new: a Mediterranean paradise where world-class festivals meet authentic Balkan soul, where hospitality isn’t a business strategy but a way of life, and where you can still discover something genuinely special before everyone else catches on.
So pack your dancing shoes, bring your sense of adventure, and get ready to fall in love with the Mediterranean’s hottest new party destination. Just remember to party responsibly, respect the incredible culture that’s welcoming you, and prepare to start planning your return trip before you’ve even left.
Welcome to Albania – where the mountains meet the sea, the music never stops, and every moment feels like a celebration.
Gëzuar! (Cheers!) 🇦🇱
